She did it!

Our little Rhoslyn rolled over today for the first time!  We are so very proud of her.  I put her on her tummy and she slowly made her way to her back.

It's always so exciting when your kids hit these milestones!

She has also made it through all stage one vegetables... looks like green beans, carrots, and sweet potatoes are her favorite.  Hopefully she is a veggie lover like her brother is!

"No baby in there!"

Before you automactically think... "Oh my God, is she pregnant?!"  No I am not. =)

When I was pregnant with Rhoslyn we used to take Billy's little flash light and put it to my belly to see if we could get her to kick where the light was.  Alex always thought this was so fun (not that he really understood).  Apparently he thought we were looking for her!

Today he was playing with daddy's flash light and wanted to look at my belly.  I told him there wasn't a baby in there but he could check it out for himself.  Then he said, "nope.. no baby in there."  He continued to play along and look in other random places.... such as up daddy's pant leg while he was feeding Rhoslyn!  Everyone he would say that he didn't find a baby.  It was too funny and too cute!

And since we are on the topic of looking for babies... let me post a few photo's of my little princess!

Isn't she a doll!  (By the way, the baby is from Santa and she LOVES it!)

So cute!

Santa's on his way!

We spent today with Billy's family and had a wonderful time!  We all received some great gifts.... Alex seemed most excited about getting a Buzz and Woody!

Thank you everyone for the wonderful presents and such a wonderful day!  We are blessed to have such a great family.

So we had our plan all set out when we got home... Alex would help hang up his stocking and Rhoslyn's (this is where Santa is leaving presents), put out cookies and juice, and read The Night Before Christmas.  Let's just say that Alex was so over tired he mostly cried and screamed.  It was a chore to even brush his teeth.  He was so out of it that putting out the stocking and leaving cookies out wasn't as much fun as I had hoped.  Oh well, what are you going to do right?!  Hopefully next year he won't fall asleep on the way home. =)

Billy and I are really looking forward to tomorrow morning and we may even sleep out in the living room tonight.  (Alex doesn't tend to wake us up and is very quiet in the morning so we are afraid he will start tearing though presents with out us!)  We can't wait to see the look on his face and the twinkle in his big brown eyes!

Alex has already requested that we have breakfast "picnic" style on a blanket on the floor in the living room.  Sounds fun.... let's hope the syrup from our pancakes stays away from the wrapping paper all over the floor!!

Merry Christmas to all of you!!

The car is packed, presents wrapped, diaper bag almost ready, dishes done, house clean, laundry in progress.... we are ready for Christmas!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!!

Thank you Auntie Kelly and Auntie Birgitta!

We skyped with Alex's Aunties all the way in Australia and they let him open up his Christmas present while we chatted on the computer.  He was very excited about the gift... exactly what he had put on his Christmas list!

(Rhoslyn hasn't opened hers yet, but she is getting some really great books.... oh how we LOVE NEW BOOKS!)

Alex recieved Dr. Feel Bad, Tormentor, and Ligtining McMean monster trucks!  He was instantly in love!  He has been playing with them ever since.

Christmas is right around the corner!

Okay... so this is going to be a pretty long blog with TONS of pictures!  (But who doesn't love pictures?!)  We had a pretty busy weekend with lots of Christmas festivities.  We enjoyed decorating cut out cookies and making our very first gingerbread house (except it was made with graham crackers... I might be super mom (yeah right), but I wasn't about to make homemade ginger bread)!

I know your thinking... "come on, come on... let's just see the pictures!"

This is the first cookie Alex decorating.  He started to pour the green sugar and just left it upside down.  Before we knew it the whole cookie was completely covered in green sugar.  Billy and I started laughing which in return embarressed Alex and he got upset.  But we told him that this is the best cookie for Santa and he will love it!

Billy and I decorating cookies with Alex!

This is what Rhoslyn did while we decorated.  She will be able to enjoy it more next year.

All of the cookies we decorated (of course except the ones we sampled... which was Alex's favorite part!).

Gingerbread House making.  This is the first time we made one and we had a blast!  Alex LOVED eating all of the candy of course!

Isn't it a beauty?!  We are ready to move right in!

I'm afraid she's a mini me....

Well I just have to come out and say it... Rhoslyn seems to have my personality.  Not that my personality is bad (at least I sure hope not)...but I am not sure if I want the pre-teen and teenage years to come if she is anything like me (right mom?!)!

Last night I was feeding her sweet potatoes and I she dribbled a bit on her pants.  I went to get a wash cloth to wipe them and OH MY GOODNESS, she started screaming!  She was not happy that I stopped feeding her for all of five seconds.  I mean, I couldn't put it in her mouth fast enough!  Not to mention, she ate the entire container (granted it was close to bottle time and they are 1st foods so the containers are small, but still).

She show's this attitude when she is drinking her bottles as well.  She is up to 5 oz. at a time now, so of course it would be good to burp in between, right?!  According to her... not so much!  She will let you know that she completely disagree's.  She is such a little drama queen and has quite an attitude.  Come on, she is only 4 months old!

Rhoslyn's first taste of the good stuff

Yesterday Rhoslyn had her first taste of sweet potatoes!  We have tried cereal, but just like her big brother she didn't want anything to do with it!  I don't think either of them like the texture of it.

She definately enjoyed the sweet potatoes and finished the rest of the container today.  So fun to watch her smack her lips and open her mouth big when she see's the spoon coming.

Also another big milestone for her, she has moved up in the qaunity of formula she is consuming.  She has gone from 20-22 oz. a day to 24-25 oz. a day.

Puzzle Masterpiece

Alex has conquered his first floor puzzle.  He can now put the whole thing together all by himself without any help from mom or dad.  He started mastering a section at a time and before we knew it, he could put the whole puzzle together all by himself!

When he first figured this out he literally put it together 8-10 times in one day!  Such a big accomplishment for him.
This picture has nothing to do with puzzles, but tonight he put this on his finger claiming he had an owie and said it was his bandaid.  Totally had to take a picture because he was so creative about it... and well, I love taking pictures of the kiddo's!!

4 months old!

Our little Rhoslyn has already hit the 4 month mark!  She is talking up a storm with all her noises, coo's, and squeels.  She loves to lay on the floor and play with toys on her playmat.  She kicks her legs and moves her arms all of the time.  We are even getting more and more giggles out of her.

We took her to her 4 month check up yesterday and had to get those darn shots.  She isn't feel too well today and is sleeping a lot.  On a bright note she is 13lbs. 5 oz. and 24 3/4 inches long!  She is a little peanut compared to her brother!
(Rhoslyn and Chandler-who is exactly one month younger then her-- Aren't they so cute together?!)

Taggie Time!

So since Alex is completely crazy over his 'taggie' he had picked one out for Rhoslyn and gave it to her at the hospital.  She also seems to love her 'taggie' as well!

Alex is always looking for and getting Rhoslyn's taggie for her.  I just had to get some photo's of these two holding onto their little blankies.
(Yes she is sucking her fingers and he is sucking his thumb.... my kids must have a strong need to suck!)

(Maybe I should go and stock up on these now.... I think Alex is going to expect that every brother or sister have one when they come home from the hospital!)

Dear Santa:

This afternoon before heading for a nap, we all sat down and wrote letters to Santa.  Alex has many things to ask for and was very excited to put his letter and Rhoslyn's letter in the mail box.

After nap we will see if the mail man came to get their letters and take them to Santa's house!

Future Home

Well it looks like we found our new future home in Green Bay!  It is an old home, but it's a ranch home with a two car garage and has a great yard!

Alex seems pretty excited about it and has been talking about it since we looked at it yesterday.  I am glad I was able to take him with.  I think it will make the move just a little easier on him.

The best part is all of the extra room!  If you are interested in seeing photo's check on facebook.

We are getting very excited about the move.  Our plan is to move there around the 2nd weekend in January.

So...........who is going to help?! =)

A little bit of both...

(Alex like daddy... finding a way to make something work in more then one way!)

(Like mom... organize and categorize!)

Happy 3 month birthday Rhoslyn!

Our little girl has already hit 3 months old!  Where has the time gone?!  Seems like it was just yesterday when we were in the hospital having her.

Here's a little bit about what our little princess has been up to....

-Smiles and Coo's at anyone who will talk to her
-Loves to be talked to
-Has started to get scared easily by loud noises and will scream and cry
-Loves to play on her playmat and bat at toys
-Still drinks 4 oz. every three hours
-Sleeps through the night

It's a bit sad to see how much she has grown already, but it is also exciting.  Before we know it she will be rolling over and eating baby food.

Happy Halloween!

We started our day out with frosting and decorating cookies. Check out Alex's hands! The first cookie I gave him to decorate he decided to start eating after putting a few sprinkles on. Then I gave him another cookie and he wanted to eat that one too. I told him he could only have one. He would take a bite, then put a few more sprinkles on and take another bite. It was fun to see how messy he was in the end.

We pumped him up about trick or treating and made our way to Grandma's after his nap. He was a little iffy with some of the houses. He definately didn't care for skulls or people with masks on. He was also very particular that he wanted to put the candy in his bucket. If someone did, he pulled it out and put it in himself. (He is too much like his mother)

After every house he said, "I want to do more trick or treating!" He had so much fun! We made our way around Amherst and then headed back home. Of course he wasn't done. Billy took him down a few roads by us and within a half hour he had the same amount of candy that he got from trick or treating for over an hour in Amherst. At this point everyone just wanted to get rid of what they had.

This morning he told me he wanted to go again, so I had to explain to him that we only trick or treat once a year. He enjoyed his first bag of skittles... and boy did he like them!

Famous Quotes by Mr. Alex

"Daddy, you do me a favor."

"It was simply a combine."

"Mom, check out that.... (tractor, truck, car, etc)!"

"It's up to you, it doesn't matter."

Billy: "Alex your so smart, where did you get your smarts from?" Alex: "From Target."

"Just one show!"

"Don't do that!" (As he points......)

"What do you think of that....?"

What a week!

We had quite a busy week... I think just about everyday we had something going on! Rhoslyn was in for an upper GI on Wednesday for her reflux. Everything looks good (in the terms of nothing being wrong internally) but we are trying a new medication for the reflux. It has only been a few days but it seems to be doing the trick!

This was such a long day for us. She couldn't eat anything after midnight and didn't have her procedure done until almost 10 in the morning! Alex also had an appt. in the afternoon... lucky for us, Alex was able to play with his friend Jace for most of the day. We even went over to Jace's house for dinner and cake for his birthday on Thursday. How exactly do you explain to a two year old that the presents are not for them?! Needless to say we left with Alex screaming and crying! Thank you Alexander family for a wonderful night and some amazing food!!

Billy was wonderful enough to let me have an entire afternoon and evening to myself. I got my hair done at noon on Saturday and headed to Appleton for some much needed alone time. What a wonderful husband I have! (THANKS HUN!)
I also got another "Cool Mom" moment by filling up a tub with dried beans for Alex to play with!
(And yes, he is wearing his snow boots with a diaper on!)

Oatmeal fun!

This is what Alex did this afternoon in the kitchen....

A construction site made out of OATMEAL! He thought this was the coolest idea mom has ever come up with!
I am not kidding when I say that he played in the kitchen with this oatmeal for HOURS!

The oatmeal of course ended up on the floor and then he thought it was a great idea to play with the trucks and tractors on the floor too!
