So many milestones, so little time!

Let's see here.... Alex is potty trained!  Huge milestone right there!  He isn't night-time trained but can pee and poop on the potty just fine.  We haven't had an accident in probably 4-5 days.  He goes when he needs to, we don't need to bug him too much unless it is before nap or bed.  He also wears undies for naps and keeps them dry.  Such a big step for him!  Plus... mom and dad are enjoying not changing his diapers!

Rhoslyn is sitting up on her own now.  She is still a little wobbly, but a whole new perspective for her!  She also LOVES baby biscuits and Mum Mum's.  We are also suspecting that some teeth may be coming soon... but you never know with babies!

These two huge milestones have happened within a week's time.  So crazy how fast children grow.

Date Night

This is how our home date night looked like last night..... you will laugh, I promise!

-Put Rhoslyn to bed.
-Put Alex to bed.
-1 minute later Alex gets out of bed and has to use the potty.
-Put Alex back to bed.
-Order dinner for delivery.  Alex gets back out of bed and claims he has to go potty... but he doesn't.
-Put Alex back to bed.
-10 minutes later, Rhoslyn starts to cry.  Put her pacifier back in.
-A little while later the delivery man rings the doorbell.  Alex wakes up.  Put him back to bed.
-Put a movie in.  Sit on the floor to eat dinner.
-Rhoslyn starts screaming.  Put her nuk back in and play her music.
-Try to sit down and eat dinner again.
-This time Rhoslyn starts screaming and crying.  Pick her up and soothe her.  Put her back to bed.
-Alex wakes up and asks why Rhoslyn is crying.  Assure him she is okay, put him back to bed.
-Finish dinner, watching movie (about 30 minutes into it).
-Rhoslyn is screaming and crying.  Doesn't want to be put down.
-Bring Rhoslyn out into the living room to snuggle.
-Try to put her back to bed, same thing.
-Bring her back out to the living room.  Decide, screw the movie and turn it off.

So, doesn't that sound like a great date night?! =)  I should also mention that I had to sleep with Rhoslyn on the recliner all night long.  Ugh.

More potty news

Alright, so I bribed Alex last night and told him that if he could pee on the potty I would give him a present..... SO, of course he did and he got a new train!

Today we were gone for most of the day and in the afternoon we decided to put undies on.  He had them on for quite awhile and never had to go to the bathroom.  We ate dinner and I told him he would need to sit on the potty after he was finished.  Guess what?!  He went pee again!!  We started a rewards chart and he was able to put a sticker on his chart.  Later on we were getting Rhoslyn in the tub in the kitchen and he yelled that he was going potty... he went into the bathroom all on his own, took off is undies and sat on his potty!

Seriously... this seems to be going so much easier then I had anticipated.  I just hope he continues to do such an awesome job!  Tomorrow we are going to try and wear undies all day long except nap time.  Wish me luck!!

He did it!!

...........Pooped on the potty that is!  We are so ecstatic!!  He was taking a bath and said he had to poop so we put him on and out came this tiny little poop (I know, way too much detail-what can I say, I am one proud mom right now)!

YAY for Alex, we are so proud of you!!!

(........I kind of bribed him and said if he can go pee or poop on the potty tomorrow I will give him a surprise)

Already a half a year old!

Rhoslyn is 6 months old today and to celebrate the occasion she had her six month check up with a new doctor!

Her appointment went great except those dreaded shots.  She is now 15lbs 14 oz. and 26 1/2 inches long.  She is in the 50th percentile for weight and about 75th for height.

A little about Rhoslyn at 6 months old:
-Giggles when she is tickled.
-Blows raspberries all of the time.
-Loves to chew and suck on anything!
-Pretty sure she has said mama twice ;)
-Has started to make a funny scrunched up face.
-Loves prunes!  Still not a huge fan of green veggies.
-Can roll both ways.
-Enjoys playing in her jumper and excasaucer.
-Loves to play with her feet.
-Consumes 25 oz. of formula a day and usually one container of baby food.
-Wears size 2 diapers, 3-6 month and some 6-9 month clothes.
-Loves to move (she kicks her legs and moves her arms all of the time).
-Cried and screamed at the doctor, before he even touched her! :)
-Loves her taggie like her big brother does.
-Sucks her thumb and fingers occasionally.

Happy little girl!

Even though she has had a bit of a cold, she has still been a happy little girl.

Mr. Mischievous

..... Alex that is!

So Alex was never the child to really "get into" things.  Of course he explored a bit, but I can't say that he got into things to make himself get into trouble.  Not anymore!!

Ever since we have moved here, he seems to think he has this new found freedom.  He is into EVERYTHING!  He will even tell us that he got into trouble (at least we have raised him to be honest).

The morning after Billy's birthday, we woke up to him with a chair pushed to the counter... sitting ON the counter, a fork in his hand, and eating the chocolate cake.

He also LOVES to dig in our junk drawer and find our cell phones and play with them.  Needless to say, I am trying to figure out a way to no longer have a junk drawer.....

Just today I was talking on the phone, in a matter of 20 minutes he had gotten out all of the mops and broom, the bag of cat food was laying on the floor, he had opened my package of swiffer mop attachments and had them all on the floor.... after awhile I didn't hear him so I walked into the kitchen to find this mess and couldn't find him!!  I called his name and he opened the garage door.  He was in the garage in his undies and a shirt!

All I could say was, "Oh Alex...."

Needless to say I am working on Alex-proofing our home.  The poor kid is sleeping with a gate up at his doorway because we just don't trust him right now.
