It's been awhile

Here I am, it is 1:00 a.m. and I cannot fall asleep!  What better time to post a few pictures of the kids.

She wasn't liking the grass... but doesn't she look cute in her suit?!

First run through the sprinkler this year!!

Pretty sure next summer this boy will be on a T-Ball team!  He loves baseball.

Trying so hard to crawl... we still aren't there yet.

Alex's first dentist appointment

Alex had his first ever dentist appointment, or as they call it "happy visit."  He did fairly well with letting them count his teeth and that was about it.  He got to hold a very cool dragon called Danny that had a huge mouth full of teeth and a super big yellow tooth brush.  This was pretty cool.

The appointment was going great until a discolored spot was found on a back molor.  Alex officially has his first cavity.  I am trying to keep my head up about this, but it just bugs me!  This is a kid who rarely gets candy, has never even had a sucker, gets watered down juice about twice a week unless it's a special occasion, and has had about 4 sips of soda his entire life.  Ugh.

I guess he is doomed with my teeth.  Oh joy.

When I go back for my next ortho appointment Alex will be getting his cavity filled.  Of course, I am pretty nervous about it.  They are filling us a perscription for some sedation medication to give to him beforehand and he shouldn't remember a thing... hopefully.  I hated the dentist as a child and I still get anxious now, so I definately do not want my children to have the same experiences.

Lets hope it goes well!

Finally...

Rhoslyn is finally getting a tooth... she has been one super crabby little girl with some seriously swollen gums.  I felt in her mouth today and ridges are on the edge!

Thats all.

The devil has arrived

Can I just complain for a second and say that I am feeling completely exhausted from this week and it's not even over yet?!

I have no idea what has happened, but I swear a monster has moved into our house and replaced our sweet little Alex.  Is this a normal three year old?  I feel like I am at a loss and well... losing my mind.  All week long we have had nothing but screaming in our house.  Every tiny, little, small thing that doesn't go his way is an all out screaming battle that can last up to an hour and usually consists of him in his room (of course not by choice), banging on his door, screaming at the top of his lungs... and driving me absolutely crazy.  Poor Rhoslyn.

So bad that he is literally starting to lose his voice.  It is all raspy because of the screaming he has done all week.  I'm not kidding when I say that besides sleeping, about 96% of our day is filled with crying, screaming, not listening, and being just plain naughty.  I want terrible two's back if this is how three's are.

On a side note we were trying to get somewhere today while we were in the car and I asked Billy why he didn't just go to mapquest.  Alex blurted out and said, "I don't want to go to mapquest!"  It was pretty funny!  And by my fault he said idiot for the first time.  Yep, parent of the year I am!  I guess thats what happens when you are telling people how to drive.

It's not even 9:00 and I think this mom is heading to bed.

Mothers Day

It was a not-so-happy Mothers Day in our house yesterday.  Around 10:30 Saturday night Alex came in bed to sleep with us.  At midnight he was on fire and had a fever.  At 3:00 a.m. I woke up to him puking on my pillow and on me, then again at 5:00 a.m. and it just continued from there.

Not sure where it came from, but my little guy had the flu on Mothers Day.  This was Alex's first time getting the stomach bug... pretty good I guess for already being three.

It was alright though, I snuggled with him all day watching shows, movies, and napping with him in my bed.  I did get a very nice card that he and Rhoslyn colored for me, a colored picture, a new camera case, and some flowers.

I told Billy we are going to take another day to celebrate and do something fun.

Only three months away from being ONE!

Can you believe that Rhoslyn is only three months away from turning one?!  I can't.

Rhoslyn spent her day today hanging out at Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Steve's house with daddy and Alex while mom was busy with a rummage sale.   She also is celebrating being nine months old with a snotty nose and a sour stomach... teeth finally?  Maybe?  We shall see.

Since I do this every month, lets see what she is up to now.

Can scoot herself backwards while laying on her stomach.
No longer eats baby food.  Completely on finger foods and formula.
Loves pancakes! (of course no syrup!)
Points with her pointer finger.
Reaches far for toys while sitting.
Puts toys together.
Picks up food very well with the pincer grasp.
Loves taking baths.
Says mama, dada, na na, hi, ba, yah.

I have a feeling we will definately have a crawler within the next few weeks.  I am already trying to make sure Alex keeps the small toys off of the floor.  This will be interesting.
This is a daily occurance.  Yep, she is just like me when I was a child.  When Alex trys to tickle her or gets in her face she cries and screams at him.  I can just hear it already..... "Mom, he's touching me!"
One of her newest faces... this is usually how she looks when she says Yah or Hi.  I love it.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Alex's race car that he made.

Enjoying dinner outside.  It was cold but fun.

Billy cookin' up our burgers for our Friday night grill out.

Alex enjoyed having his friend Lexi sleep over for two nights.  (Snuggling and watching a show before getting ready for bed.)

Alex and Lexi played with blue goo that I made.

Love this picture!  Seriously, why doesn't he smile like that for me when I try to take actual photo's?!  This photo makes my heart melt.

Rhoslyn playing with toys.  She is now scooting herself backwards.  We are going to have a crawler on our hands before we know it!

She is always my little helper when making sure the lighting is good before taking photo's of someone.  I LOVE this photo of her.
