Pumpkin Carving

You don't carve pumpkins the "right" way unless you use a saw!  Yeah, our pumpkins look pretty ordinary... but I tell you what, we had more fun carving pumpkins than we have any other year!

Kuddos to Alex for trying to spoon out the guts, but he just couldn't do it.  Rhoslyn... well she tried to eat it, which I pretty much figured she was going to do.

Another year of mom and dad getting in on all of the fun of pumpkin carving!  Alex is super stoked to see them with candles in them so they look like REAL jack-o-lanturns.

Veggie Hater

It's official... Rhoslyn hates all and any form of vegetables!

Thought I would get smart about it and started to mix fruit/veggie baby food into baby oatmeal.  She ate it once... the whole bowl!  I tried this morning and she turned her head refusing to even open her mouth.  Great.

This kid will pick around all food so she won't even have to touch her veggies!

Any moms or dads out there with some suggestions?!

It's the little things...

I love the little things my kids do on an everyday basis, and I don't write about them enough.

Just today we were sitting in the living room talking about getting ready for bed.  Rhoslyn said, "nigh nigh" and then started crawling down the hallway.  The whole way to her room she kept saying "nigh nigh."  After a minute Billy finds her sitting at the end of the hallway with her taggie in her hand.  She grabbed her taggie out of her crib and was clearly ready for bed.  Too cute.

We were reading books with Alex before bed.  Even though he cannot read yet, he will tell you when you said a wrong word.  Billy accidentally said quaked instead of shaked and Alex had to correct him on his error!  He is our book worm.

On a different note...

Not that I feel I have ever taken life for granted but recently it has really hit home.  While I was going to college Alex went to a home daycare center.  He loved it, I loved it.  I have cocontinued to keep in contact with his previous daycare provider and I am friends with her on facebook.  Just recently she has started chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.  She is not much older than myself and she has a four year old daughter.  It has really made me cherish these little things with my own family so much more.  I can't imagine what she is going through and what her little girl is going through.  How do you explain that?  I feel so helpless.  It's a scary thought to think that this really does and can happen to anyone.

I am so grateful that my family is healthy.

Hillside Apple Orchard

Yesterday we spent the morning at Hillside Apple Orchard in Luxemburg picking apples and pumpkins.  It was really chilly when we first got there, but we didn't let that stop us!

This was seriously so much fun!  We grabbed a bag, went out to the orchard, and picked away.  We picked a few, we sampled a few.  Rhoslyn even enjoyed holding onto her own little apples to eat.

Get ready for a picture overload!!

We picked out two huge pumpkins for mom and dad and two little pumpkins for the kids.

We walked all over the apple orchard.  Alex is already requesting we go back again!

"Mmmmmm these apples are good!"

Not only did we get to pick apples and pumpkins we also got to have a wagon ride pulled by these beautiful horses and also a tractor ride!

Rhoslyn was all bundled up.

So glad we found this place and we look forward to visiting there at least once a year.  The entire family had a great time and what a great way to try some different apples.  I think we will be making a trip back next weekend to grab some more apples!

Rhoslyn

Here is a little bit about Rhoslyn that you may not know...

She can walk with her stroller now!

She likes to take her baths in the sink versus the bath tub.  When she is in the tub she screams, stands, and throws a fit!  Tonight we did a bath in the sink and she was a happy, silly little girl!  Who knew?

She loves pulling books out of our book shelf.  There are times when I realize I haven't heard much from her and I will usually find her in the hallway flipping through books.  She is a pretty independent child.

Her hair has hit that awkward stage.  Even when her hair is in a clip it usually looks a bit ratty.  Her hair also curls in the back, which of course is super cute!

She loves being outside.  When she is all done eating she will give you her cup and that is her cue that she is done.  She says "nigh nigh" when it is time to go to sleep (and waves).  She is trying really hard to say kitty right now.  She has five teeth and one on the way.  She hates vegetables (rarely she will eat a few peas or carrots).  She LOVES banana's and grapes.  She can stand alone but is too afraid to, so she will go down on her knees and then crawl away.  She is a chatterbox, but most of you won't know that because when she is around others she is very quiet.  She says "brober" for brother.  She loves to play with trains.  She really likes little people toys right now.

And... in just one more week she will be 14 months old!

Packer Game

Thank you to Grandma Jackie for winning tickets to the packer game!  Alex was able to attend his first game.  He was so pumped about going.

Here is Billy and Alex inside the stadium.  Thank you to the kind lady who took this picture so mom could see them at the game! =)

The game was too loud for him and they spent most of their time in the gift shop.  They didn't even make it through the first qaurter, but the experience he got was all that mattered.

He had a blast spending time with daddy and eating popcorn, ice cream, and drinking lemonade.

GO PACKERS!!

Labor Day Weekend

We spent our Labor Day weekend spending time with Billy's Family at his parents cabin and enjoying a day outside at Bay Beach.  Then of course Monday, we were all a bit under the weather and laid around the house for a majority of the day.

Auntie Shauna gave Rhoslyn her first popsicle!  She loved it!  Thanks Auntie Shauna!!

The kids enjoyed popsicles after lunch.  No picture of Alex eating his because he had to ride on the four wheeler while the other kids ate theirs.

Alex and Daddy going for a ride on the four wheeler!

Sunday we spent the day at Bay Beach here in Green Bay.  Rhoslyn was kicking back in her stroller as Alex rode on the rides.
