On the 8th Day of Christmas

Bill finished putting up the outdoor lights!  He did a great job!

Alex and I hit up Chuck E Cheese and had lunch together while daddy and Rhoslyn visited Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Steve.

Alex is getting so excited for Christmas to come.  It is pretty much all he talks about.

Dinner

So since we had nothing planned for dinner we thought we would hit up the Diner here in Fremont.

We drove up and it was dark.  They are only open until 2:00.  We live in a town of 679 people, not a lot of choices!

We drove through the BIG downtown and found a restaurant bar.  We walked in and it looked empty.  As we were walking out a guy came up and told us they are closed until March.  Where is this posted?  And why isn't the door locked?

Fremont is a summer town.

So then we drive down a bit further and find that Hotel Fremont is open for dinner!  Thank goodness!

Dinner was good and the kids were entertaining.  Our kids were the only kids in the entire restaurant.  We had a lot of people looking at us and smiling.  A teenager walked by and his name must have been Cole.  Alex blurted out, "Hey I know a Cole in my class!"  "Thats not him though."

Alex ordered a corn dog for dinner.  He has never had a full-size corn dog, just the minnie ones.  When the waitress brought it up he shouts, "Wow that is a big corn dog and it's on a stick!"  It was definitely a laugh out loud moment.

Rhoslyn insisted on wearing Billy's hat before dinner arrived and walking around the table.  She got lots of smiles at how cute she looked.

It was fun!

On the 5th, 6th, & 7th Day of Christmas....

The kids wrote their Christmas Lists for Santa and left them in their stockings for St. Nick to take.  Alex promptly woke up at 5:30 the next morning and rummaged through his stocking before waking anyone up!

I guess you could say he was pretty excited!  Rhoslyn followed about an hour later.  The kids were super excited to find a few things in their stockings.

We made rice krispy treat snowmen.  They sure didn't turn out as "nice" as pictured.  They were a bit harder to make then I thought they would be.  The kids mostly enjoyed eating the candy and marshmallows!

We also watched Mickey Mouse Christmas twice.

Don't you love the ugly plaid curtains in the back!  I really need to take those down!! :)

Helping Rhoslyn decorate her snowman.

The beautiful snowman!!

"Cheese!"

What a cute pose!  Alex's snowman he made.

St. Nick arrived and took the lists as well as leaving a few goodies.
Can't wait until we get our new stockings in the mail!

"Moshi Monsters Mom!"

All of Alex's goodies.

4th Day of Christmas

Alex had school today so Rhoslyn and I did some Christmas shopping at Target.

We can't say what we bought. =)

After dinner we did a snowman activity.  It was a last minute idea so it was probably a bit boring.  Just some coloring, cutting, and gluing.

Rhoslyn through a fit when it was time for her to be done gluing.  When Alex was finished I told him to right his name on his artwork.  Rhoslyn was next to him screaming and crying.  He wrote his name and said, "I have had enough of this" and walked away.  Happy Holidays?

We proceeded to follow dad into the bedroom where he was folding a mound of laundry.  The kids decided to climb and jump all over me.  It was fun...

3rd Day of Christmas

On the third day of Christmas...

We watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!

Every time I watch that move it makes me think of watching it with my mom on TV when they only played it once during the Christmas season.

It's cute, because Rhoslyn gets into movies now and she enjoyed watching it.  Alex asks more questions now, such as why the snow monster was so angry at the beginning of the movie.  I love watching Christmas movies!

We also jammed out to our Phineas and Ferb Christmas CD!

On a side note:  Our home is feeling more like home.  I finally got a few things hung up on the walls today!  We are also in LOVE with our new carpet!  This Christmas is definitely sentimental with us being in our first home.  We are loving every minute of it.

2nd Day of Christmas

On the 2nd day of Christmas...

We put lights up outside.  Still need to finish after we purchase some clips for the gutters!

I put up my Christmas Villages downstairs and blew the fuse for the strand of lights.

The Elf did NOT make his second appearance.

We ended our day watching How to Train your Dragon... ok not very Christmas related. =)

1st Day of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas a little Elf showed up on our kitchen table.

I was super excited about Elfie the elf keeping an eye on the kids.

Alex was not.

He was scared and unsure of the elf.  He takes things very literally with his ASD.  We thought he would either enjoy it, or be terrified.  I guess that was a risk we had to take....Daddy and Alex went and dumped our old carpet at the landfill and I told Elfie he needed to go back to the North Pole.

He will not be coming back. (Alex even came out of his room tonight crying because he was scared of the Elf coming back.  Billy told him we would make sure we called Santa and tell him that we do not want him to come and check on the kids.)

On a bright note, we went to Toys R Us which was a total zoo.  The kids each picked out a game that we are donating to Toys for Tots at Alex's school.

We also finally put the star on top of our Christmas tree!

Photos will be posted later.  (I have been informed that I have used all of my photo space)
