A date with mom =)

Alex and I went on a date together Sunday morning.  First we ventured over to Wild Air in Appleton.  Let me tell you, this place is awesome!

Alex was pretty skeptical at first.  He has always been a very cautious child so I wasn't surprised.  I wasn't sure if he was ever going to try out the slides but after awhile he asked if I would help carry him up and down we went!  Up and down, up and down... let me say, it was hard work carrying a 40 lb. boy up blow up steps!  After awhile he wanted to check out what else they had.  We found another slide area where he could climb up himself and this was so cool for him.  Plus, next to it was the super duper big slide!  He went up this all by himself and down at least five times.  We will deifnately be going there again.  Alex said he wants to bring Jace with us one time.

After our hour at Wild Air we went to Applebee's for lunch and Alex even got to have dessert!  We had a great time, just the two of us!

Daddy also enjoyed his time alone with Rhoslyn. =)

It's been awhile...

Boy have we had a lot going on in the last few weeks since the last blog.  We are finally at the new house and loving it.  There is so much more space for everything (those of you who helped us move know just how much stuff we really have)!  Alex loves our new home and is adjusting very well to sleeping in his new room.  We are slowly getting boxes unpacked.  Where is that magic fairy when you need it?!

Anyways...

Alex has become very good at getting into things when we are asleep.  Just today we took a family nap and he found the package of oreos on the counter and helped himself.  I am scared to even think about how many he actually consumed.  It was cute though.  He told me he made his own lunch and had this proud smile on his oreo face!  He had his very first sleep over at his friend Jace's house last week.  My kind friend Mariann took Alex for the day and overnight so I could get some packing done while Billy was staying at the new house.  Alex had so much fun that he told me to go home when I came to pick him up the next day.  He has already asked to spend the night again!

Rhoslyn is now saying sounds like "agoo, ba, da, nigh."  She has also discoverved her feet and ankles.  She loves to grab onto her ankles and feet when laying on the floor.  She even got her first taste of fruit today.  She enjoyed a few spoonfuls of BANANA'S!

Yes she is sitting in a baby doll stroller, it was Alex's idea ;)

Rhoslyn has hit 5 months

Today our princess (and boy do I mean princess) has hit 5 months old.  We cannot believe it! (I probably say that every month though)!

Lets see what she has been up to...

1.  Doesn't like her mom to get any sleep.  (Take last night for example, I think mama got about 3 hours of broken sleep because Miss Rhoslyn was up all night crying, fussing, and lets not forget about her screaming!)  I am not really sure why, but she just doesn't sleep all of the way through the night.  I think we might have to break her paci before we know it.  The little stinker is always taking it out, and then demands it back in!!

2.  As I have already posted, she can now roll from stomach to back.  Very exciting!

3.  She is getting really strong and able to stand for longer periods of time (of course when you are holding onto her).

4.  She loves eating baby food, but is already showing signs of pickiness.  Liking one thing one day and not the next.  Although she hasn't gotten any fruits yet.

5. She is a... well... a DRAMA QUEEN!  She lets you know when she isn't happy by yelling and screaming at the slightest bump (such as from her big brother) throws her over the edge!  Daddy says she has mommy's attittude.  (No comments from mom)

6.  She enjoys playing with toys, laying on the floor, and watching her big brother run around.  All toys and objects in her hands go straight to her mouth!

7.  She has graduated to 25 oz of formula a day.

8.  Still has acid reflux (yucky)!

9.  Is wearing 3-6 month clothing.. moving into 6-9 month pajama's.. but can still fit into a few 0-3 month Carters clothes (how does that work?).

10.  Has finally graduated to size 2 diapers (but they are pretty big... like overlap the tabs big)!  (Maybe mom just got sick of buying 1's since Target doesn't care them in cases?!)

Best of all she can be a pretty happy go lucky baby.  We are so happy to have her in our lives.  Her brother absolutely adores her and we just love to watch the two of them interact.  What more can you ask for?  She is growing so fast, but yet so different then Alex when he was a baby.  It is really fun to watch the differences.  It is scary to think that in just a few months she will probably be crawling around and getting into everything..... Oh God, help us all!

(Will hopefully post photo later)

She did it!

Our little Rhoslyn rolled over today for the first time!  We are so very proud of her.  I put her on her tummy and she slowly made her way to her back.

It's always so exciting when your kids hit these milestones!

She has also made it through all stage one vegetables... looks like green beans, carrots, and sweet potatoes are her favorite.  Hopefully she is a veggie lover like her brother is!

"No baby in there!"

Before you automactically think... "Oh my God, is she pregnant?!"  No I am not. =)

When I was pregnant with Rhoslyn we used to take Billy's little flash light and put it to my belly to see if we could get her to kick where the light was.  Alex always thought this was so fun (not that he really understood).  Apparently he thought we were looking for her!

Today he was playing with daddy's flash light and wanted to look at my belly.  I told him there wasn't a baby in there but he could check it out for himself.  Then he said, "nope.. no baby in there."  He continued to play along and look in other random places.... such as up daddy's pant leg while he was feeding Rhoslyn!  Everyone he would say that he didn't find a baby.  It was too funny and too cute!

And since we are on the topic of looking for babies... let me post a few photo's of my little princess!

Isn't she a doll!  (By the way, the baby is from Santa and she LOVES it!)

So cute!

Santa's on his way!

We spent today with Billy's family and had a wonderful time!  We all received some great gifts.... Alex seemed most excited about getting a Buzz and Woody!

Thank you everyone for the wonderful presents and such a wonderful day!  We are blessed to have such a great family.

So we had our plan all set out when we got home... Alex would help hang up his stocking and Rhoslyn's (this is where Santa is leaving presents), put out cookies and juice, and read The Night Before Christmas.  Let's just say that Alex was so over tired he mostly cried and screamed.  It was a chore to even brush his teeth.  He was so out of it that putting out the stocking and leaving cookies out wasn't as much fun as I had hoped.  Oh well, what are you going to do right?!  Hopefully next year he won't fall asleep on the way home. =)

Billy and I are really looking forward to tomorrow morning and we may even sleep out in the living room tonight.  (Alex doesn't tend to wake us up and is very quiet in the morning so we are afraid he will start tearing though presents with out us!)  We can't wait to see the look on his face and the twinkle in his big brown eyes!

Alex has already requested that we have breakfast "picnic" style on a blanket on the floor in the living room.  Sounds fun.... let's hope the syrup from our pancakes stays away from the wrapping paper all over the floor!!

Merry Christmas to all of you!!
