So I am sure just about every family has at least one child who makes a fuss during dinner. Rhoslyn is usually that child in our family. Don't get me wrong, Alex has his moments too... but I think he has learned that it makes mom a bit angry to complain about the food she made. So, I am pretty sure he usually just sucks it up and eats it.
Rhoslyn didn't want to eat her Alfredo tonight. She claimed it tasted like the fork. She also complained about her berries. Apparently those only taste good at lunch (since she ate the same ones for lunch today). She was whining and crying about dinner and I got fed up with it.
I told her that we weren't going to listen to her whining. We would only listen if she talked like a big girl. Daddy was just about to break that when I chimed in. She looked at Billy and said, "If I go to a new family, I will miss you."
Now I didn't hear this at the time, but when Billy told me I just about died laughing. Hopefully one day she realizes that mom won't get upset if she would just eat her dinner without complaining!
So I just look at these pictures to remind me of how sticken cute she is!

Thanksgiving Dinner
So according to Rhoslyn we are having French Fries and Cheese Sandwiches for our Thanksgiving Dinner!
At daycare her teacher had the children draw a picture and tell her what they were eating for Thanksgiving and that is what Rhoslyn said.
Too funny!

Praying
Something to melt your hearts...
Tonight Alex was sitting on the bottom step before bed. Billy asked him what he was doing and he said he was praying to God to answer his question. His question was how Jesus is doing in Heaven.
So sweet.
Make a Difference Day
Today was Make a Difference Day for the Scouts. We went as a family and Grandpa Mark came along to help. We had 65 people helping rake leaves (including children). Together, we raked 9 homes in just 3 hours! It was so awesome to see how hard the kids worked. The best part was seeing how happy the homeowners were to see the kids helping rake! After the raking was finished, we went back to the Scout house to enjoy some pizza.
I asked Alex what he learned today. He said, "I learned to never ever give up. Even when you are tired, you need to keep going."
Seriously, this boy brings tears to my eyes and makes me so proud. Even though he was so tired, he kept going.
When we got back home, Grandpa had a special surprise for him. He gave Alex his Neck Tie from when he was a cub scout. He thought that it was so cool!

Little Miss Rhoslyn
This little cutie is four and she knows it. She likes to do things at her own pace. Which sometimes means that it takes 20 minutes for getting dressed and brushing teeth. Yeah.... were working on that. Mom's technique is to race and see how fast she can be. It works... sometimes.
The coolest thing about this little lady right now is that she is learning to read! Her daycare teacher and myself are working on sight words with her. She is learning to look at the pictures to help her with reading the word as well as using the letter sounds. It's pretty awesome.
Now if we could just work on her eating dinner without complaining and grumbling...
Cub Scouts
This handsome young man is in love with Cub Scouts! It is so awesome to see him be so excited. He is really opening up and becoming more outgoing. He is raising his hand to ask questions, he is making new friends, and gets to do something fun with dad.
I love that he is having fun and also doing things within our community. He has been a part of leaving food pantry bags on door steps and picking the filled bags up. Then they took the bags to our local food pantry. Next weekend he gets to spend time volunteering to help rake leaves.
It's just such a cool thing to see. His first badge (which you see in the picture) is his family badge. Tonight at the Pack Meeting he will get his Bobcat badge and his Kircheif to wear around his neck.

First Day of School
Alex started first grade and Rhoslyn started four year old kindergarten! I can't believe we have two children in school! They are both enjoying school so far. Alex has homework daily and Rhoslyn is getting adjusted to having mom in class. =)
Alex lost his first tooth the second Friday of school! His teacher helped him pull it out at recess. She is the "master tooth puller-outer." He was very excited to find $5 under his pillow from the tooth fairy.
